General Data Protection Regulation
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies across the UK and EU. This legislation dictates the way companies are able to collect and use your data. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) offers more control to you, which ensures personal information is protected and used accordingly by third parties.
We would like your consent
It is important to Comms Express that we can continue to communicate efficiently with all of our customers, with useful and engaging content that is relevant to your business interests, including promotions, product updates, industry news, exhibitions and webinars. Identifying personal data
What personal data we hold, where it came from and with whom we share it is all documented. We also sought confirmation from our suppliers in respect of their compliance with GDPR.
Policies and Procedures
Our data protection policies and procedures were revised to meet the requirements and standards of the GDPR including:
- Data breaches - procedures were implemented to identify, assess, and investigate any suspected personal data breach at the earliest possible time and individuals or any applicable regulator will be notified where we are legally required to do so.
- Data retention and erasure - Data retention provisions were included within our privacy policy, and we ensure that personal information is stored, archived, and destroyed compliantly. We have dedicated erasure procedures in place where, in some circumstances, individuals can request us in writing to delete their data. We also have a data retention policy. This is available via the link below.
- Subject access requests - our subject access procedures comply with the statutory timeframes for providing the requested information and we try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. We have made this provision free of charge and have included this individual right in our privacy policy.
